Bio

Mark Times is a songsmith at work. He’s a novelist with a Gibson, plucking stories from the windswept prairies and humming to the slow clack of typewriter keys. His work is the product of raw emotion filtered through a thoughtful process, distilling songs that are just the right amount of head and heart. His self titled EP, released in November of 2017, earned him nominations for the singer/songwriter and roots/folk recording of the year at the Edmonton Music Awards, while the track “Saskatchewine” received an honorable mention in the Canadian Songwriting Competition. His debut release was quoted as “[bringing] a simpler, more real country back to the forefront” (tourbusentertainment.com) and garnered comparisons to Nashville’s roots-renaissance songwriter Chris Stapleton (topcountry.ca). Times’ anticipated full length album, slated for release in the fall of 2020, finds him wading further into the Americana waters, with songs grounded by his honest vocals and intimate storytelling, and elevated by acoustic guitars and pedal steel.
